Role Purpose


The EHS Advisor will provide Environment, Health and Safety guidance working with the project team, implementing and maintaining the Kirby management system for the project, and coordinating all EHS matters within various Project Management Teams.



  • Provide advice, guidance, support and instruction in all EHS matters

  • Identify training needs and carry out training as required

  • Audit and inspect projects to ensure compliance with EHS requirements

  • Report on business EHS risks, KPIs and trends accurately

  • Ensure incidents are reported and investigated thoroughly


Key Responsibilities



  • Reports to EHS Manager, Site Managers/Supervisors and Project Manager

  • Conversant with Kirby safety statement, environment manual, risk assessments, and legislation

  • Carries out internal audits and site inspections


  • Reviews Contractor Appointments and ensures only competent contractors are used

  • Introduces measures to prevent incidents at work

  • Reports on incidents and/or dangerous occurrences

  • Carries out incident investigation and recommends method for future avoidance

  • Audits company site safety file and ensures hazards/risks are regularly assessed

  • Prepares Monthly KPI Report and issues records of training

  • Attends regional EHS Coordination Meeting and EHS meeting with Business Unit Manager

  • Implements and promotes the company Incentive Scheme


Necessary Requirements



  • 5+ Years' Experience in similar industry

  • Degree in Occupational H&S and Environmental Management

  • Safe Pass, CSCS (UK), Train the Trainer, First Aid, and Training Instructor

  • Internal ISO14000 and ISO45000 system auditor

  • Experience with Construction Regulations and CDM roles

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with teams

  • Ability to work within strict deadlines and prepare high-quality Audits and EHS reports

  • Up to date with Legislation, Standards, Guidance, Advice and Compliance
