Job Description

Health and Safety Officer required to lead safety department on projects in Athlone, Ireland, with a focus on delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.

Instrotec is an indigenous contractor providing electrical & instrumentation project support, specialising in turnkey packages for design, supply, installation, commissioning, and final hand-over.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Client meetings and represent the company at external meetings
  • Liaise with external bodies (ISO, HSA, Safe Electric, National Training Bodies)
  • Develop and maintain a training matrix for your project, ensuring compliance at all times
  • Champion our Wellbeing, Mental Health, and Environmental policies
  • Carry out audits, briefings, presentations, and TBTs with our highly experienced crews
  • Maintain our site H&S Management System to a high standard
  • Carry out Near Miss investigations
  • Promote our SOR Programme
  • Compile and present monthly and yearly KPI reports
  • Collaborate with our MC partners to ensure we continue to deliver the highest possible standards in Health & Safety
  • Lead by example in areas of Covid-19 Management, PPE compliance, and attitude
  • Learn about, be aware of, and implement new Health and Safety strategies, in particular, in relation to Heuristics, cognitive bias, and people safety

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Level 7 or higher qualification on the NGF Framework
  • Full Clean Driving Licence or working towards
  • Open to new ideas and passionate about Health and Safety
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite of software
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • Proficient use of English language both oral and written
  • 1/2 years experience in Construction is desirable
