YOUR NEW COMPANY My client is a well-established and growing multi-national Cork based manufacturing company who specialises in manufacturing products used by multi-billion-dollar clients with large data centres such as Meta etc. The company pride themselves on the reliability and quality of their products and aftercare service provided to their customers who tend be blue chip multinational tech companies who apply my clients environmentally sustainable technology and products in critical applications. In operation in Ireland for over 25 years and currently employing 140 staff across their two Cork plants they are currently recruiting for an EHS Specialist for their North Cork plant. This EHS job would be commutable from Mallow, Kanturk, Charleville, Newmarket, Millstreet, Fermoy & Duhallow YOUR NEW EHS SPECIALIST JOB Reporting into the current EHS Advisor/Manager your main remit in the EHS Specialist job will be to develop and implement programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, while also overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of the manufacturing plant. Day to day some of your key responsibilities will include: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs that comply with all relevant regulations. Manage regular safety audits and inspections to detect and mitigate risks. Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees. Manage the facility maintenance program, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations. Oversee janitorial and housekeeping services. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits. Develop and implement a waste management program. Manage the facility budget for EHS and facilities related expenses. Stay up-to-date on the latest EHS and facility management best practices. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU You will be a qualified EHS specialist with a minimum of 3-4 years relevant experience ideally in the manufacturing sector and hold a relevant Third level qualification in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) You'll need to the kind of EHS professional with a strong backbone that relishes the challenge of putting Health & Safety at the forefront of everyone's agenda in the plant and isn't afraid to push back when this isn't the case. You'll also have a demonstrable ability to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs along with experience with conducting safety audits and inspections.
