EHS Specialist (Lead) Location: Blanchardstown Duration: Permanent 39 Hours per week Overview of the Role: We are seeking highly motivated and safety conscious individual to fill EHS Lead position on our black utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for one of the world's leading pharmaceutical company's based in Dublin. The EHS Lead will ensure the highest standards of Environmental, Health and Safety practices for Veolia's team on site, and will work closely with our client EHS department to ensure compliance with client site EHS requirements. He/she will develop robust internal audits of the EHS management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and work with assigned direct and indirect reports. He/she will also facilitate local compliance with the Incident/Accident management system and evaluate and promote a Safety Culture (e.g. BBS) within the Veolia Team in tandem veolia and client safety initiatives. Day to day of the role: Ensure the highest standards of Environmental, Health and Safety practices for Veolia's team on site. Coordinate Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities in the operating unit to ensure sustained and continuous improvement in EHS compliance. Facilitate local compliance with both Veolia's and the Client's Incident/Accident management systems; investigate and / or support operations teams with incident / accident investigations. Evaluate and promote a Safety Culture (e.g. BBS). Attend monthly safety and BBS meetings as relevant. Collaborate with the Veolia Ireland Risk & Assurance team and attend R&A meetings as relevant Ensure effective actions are assigned completed and closed out in the designated safety reporting system. Facilitate local EHS Forum via monthly meeting agenda preparation and minutes close-out. Provide support and focus for the shift EHS Reps. Support the operations teams in the sign-off and ongoing development and improvement of both Veolia and supplier RAMS. Be proactive in identifying non-routine tasks and ensure associated risk assessments are completed in a consistent and comprehensive way. Support both Veolia's and Client's third party external and internal EHS audit programmes and requirements Network on EHS issues within the business and across operating sites. Ensure any incident learnings are communicated across the business and the wider site network. Maintain and apply all relevant Veolia and Client EHS policies, procedures and systems; support the application of Veolia's Minimum Requirements as relevant Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws Ensure wellbeing of all Veolia staff on site in accordance with the policies and regulations. Monitor and collaborate with contractor / suppliers working on site the ensure they adhere to Veolia and/or Client procedures and relevant legislation Ensure training and re-training of staff is managed in compliance with both local Client and Veolia requirements and maintain a site-specific training matrix. Monitor and audit compliance with local Permit Issuing requirements Deal with all other EHS matters arising. Required skills for the role: Essential; Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or working towards CMIOSH Have experience as a senior EHS professional within a large, multi-site organisation, preferably with a pharmaceutical background. Have experience in auditing, preferably experienced with ISO standards. Have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation. Have experience of risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation processes. Desirable: Ability to work in a team atmosphere, with the ability to recognize and facilitate conflicts through to resolution. Possess the highest level of attention to detail and expect this of others. Effectively communicate with all levels within Veolia and Client team as necessary. Effortlessly build relationships at senior management levels. Approach problem solving in a logical and systematic way. Have the courage of conviction to make decisions when required.
