Job Description

NESFircroft are partnered with an industry leading power generation client, actively sourcing an electrical commissioning engineer to join their high-profile project in Ireland.The ideal candidate will have experience in commissioning electrical equipment within a CCPP or power plant environment. The candidate will lead the Electrical Commissioning Team and ensure planning, preparation, and execution of the commissioning, operation, trial run, and acceptance for the electrical systems and subsystems.Electrical Systems and SubsystemsThe Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the commissioning of project-specific equipment and tasks such as:Generator including generator connections and star point cabinetTransformer incl. tap-change operationLow voltage switching stationMedium voltage switching systemHigh voltage switch system or interface to high voltage systemHV Back FeedBattery, battery loading device and uninterrupted voltage supplyGenerator protectionGenerator energization (voltage regulator)Static start-up device for generators (SFC)Energy counter and synchronizationGenerator power switchGenerator terminal leads (bus duct)Emergency power diesel unitLubrication oil and cooling system for generator and turbineInstrumentation and control logic for the electrical systems including the Electrical Control System (ECS)Qualifications/RequirementsCommissioning experience and strong knowledge of the Electrical Systems of Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP)Strong analytic and problem-solving capabilityWilling to travel worldwide for long-term assignmentsFluent in spoken and written EnglishAn engineering degree from an accredited universityInternational Driving LicenseWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
