Electrical Design Engineer Job In Galway

Electrical Design Engineer required for automation project in Galway, Ireland. Design and develop electrical systems for custom automated machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems for custom automated machinery, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Develop electrical and pneumatic schematics using CAD software.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer specifications.
• Design and specify control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, sensors, and safety systems.
• Collaborate with software engineering team to ensure proper integration of hardware and control systems.
• Select appropriate components for automation project.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and functionality.
• Participate in design reviews and provide electrical design expertise.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during assembly and commissioning of machines.
• Support build and testing of electrical panels and control systems.
• Assist in commissioning of machines on shop floor and at customer sites.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally in automation, machine building, or manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD Software.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards.
