Job Description

Primary Electrical Engineer
Responsible for leading electrical design works and ensuring compliance with Hitachi Energy and customer standards, procedures, and policies.
About the Role

As a key member of the Hitachi Energy Ireland Power Grids Grid Integration Business, you will be responsible for coordinating engineering assignments across multiple projects, ensuring efficient, cost-effective execution in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Contribution: Acts as a technical lead, approves design deliverables, reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance, and anticipates and solves unprecedented problems.
  • Sales Support: Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs, providing bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.
  • Contract Management: Supports Contract Managers in issuing claims, new or change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.
  • Planning and Control: Creates work plans and cost estimates, reviews and approves scope, budget, and schedule for assignments, and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Creates and executes strategies for risk and opportunity management, identifies and manages contract risks, and takes corrective actions to resolve issues.
  • Customer: Works with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements, and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure technical requirements are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers.
  • Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Represents the function in standardization committees, communicates and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments, and acts as a technical specialist/adviser to senior management.
  • Processes and Tools: Reviews, develops, and documents quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques, and ensures engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
