Job Summary: We're seeking a skilled Primary Electrical Engineer to join our team and support the Hitachi Energy Ireland Power Grids Grid Integration Business.

  • Technical Contribution:
    • Act as a technical lead and approve design deliverables.
    • Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
    • Anticipate and solve unprecedented problems, crucial issues, and unique conditions.
    • Serve as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.
  • Sales Support:
    • Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs.
    • Provide technical expertise and support for sales efforts.
  • Contract Management:
    • Support Contract Managers in issuing claims.
    • Ensure quality solutions meet customer requirements and deliver within budget and contract.
    • Adhere to safety standards and mitigate potential risks.
  • Planning and Control:
    • Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility.
    • Review and approve scope, budget, and schedule for assignments.
    • Ensure quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management:
    • Identify and manage contract risks.
    • Take corrective actions to resolve any contract/quality/program/cost issues.
    • Report outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
  • Customer:
    • Work with the customer to shape and deliver solutions.
    • Seek customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
    • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure technical requirements are communicated and agreed upon.
    • Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals.
    • Accept supplied equipment or services as fit for purpose.
  • Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Represent the function in standardization committees.
    • Communicate and present at conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
    • Act as a technical specialist/adviser to senior management.
  • Processes and Tools:
    • Review, develop, and document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques.
    • Ensure engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
    • Contribute to continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
