As an Electrical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of pharmaceutical construction projects, ensuring all systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with both Irish and international standards. This is a senior role that requires hands-on expertise in managing electrical installations in complex environments like pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, where precision, safety, and regulatory compliance are paramount. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Lead and manage the electrical installation teams for pharmaceutical construction projects, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and within budget. Design and Review: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review electrical and instrumentation schematics, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards. Electrical Installations: Oversee the installation of high and low voltage electrical systems, switchgear, and distribution systems in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and pharmaceutical regulations. Instrumentation: Manage the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems, ensuring accurate calibration and integration into the process. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure they meet the highest quality and safety standards, as well as project specifications. Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant Irish and European electrical codes, health and safety regulations, and pharmaceutical industry standards. Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to procure electrical materials, equipment, and instrumentation components, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical and instrumentation installations, testing results, and as-built drawings, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date for handover. Risk Management: Identify potential electrical and instrumentation risks on-site, implementing mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or safety issues. Team Supervision: Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to electrical teams, promoting a strong safety culture and high performance. Client Interaction: Act as the point of contact for electrical and instrumentation matters, liaising with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met. Qualifications & Skills: Education: A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant technical certifications will also be considered. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with instrumentation systems is essential. Instrumentation Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and integration into process control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs). Pharmaceutical Sector Expertise: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical facility requirements, including GMP, cleanroom standards, and regulatory compliance. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN) and MS Office. Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning tools is an advantage. Knowledge of Standards: Solid understanding of Irish electrical regulations, ETCI, and EU standards, as well as industry-specific guidelines like ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering). Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues in a high-pressure environment. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. Team Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate on-site teams to achieve project goals. Attention to Detail: High level of precision and focus on quality, ensuring every aspect of electrical and instrumentation work meets stringent industry standards. Desirable: Instrumentation Certification or professional qualification in process instrumentation or calibration. Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems), automation, and control systems within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with hazardous area electrical installations (ATEX certification). Salary: Competitive, with a benefits package that includes healthcare, pension contributions, and professional development opportunities.
