Job Description

Electrical Maintenance Technician sought for high-volume food production facility in North Midlands.

Our client, a leading food production firm, requires an Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance support in their manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the production lines and equipment.

The role involves:

  • Electrical and mechanical trouble-shooting on food production lines and equipment.
  • Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled food production plant, handling and packaging equipment.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance routines.
  • Supporting the production team to achieve targets.
  • Monitoring line and machine performance and intervening promptly to prevent deterioration.
  • Repairs to mechanical and control systems equipment, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Working independently and using initiative to resolve faults.
  • Collaborating with the production team.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities.
  • Troubleshooting using PLC programs.
  • Being flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An electrical trade qualification and strong electrical background.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • A multi-skilled and cross-skilled ethos.
  • Aptitude for process awareness and diagnostic/trouble-shooting experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills.
  • Computer skills and experience with planned preventative maintenance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC-based control systems.
  • Good problem-solving skills and experience in fault finding.
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health and Safety.

Previous experience in FMCG/food manufacturing is an advantage.
