Job Description
Electrical Project Engineer sought to support wind power projects in Ireland and the UK, with a strong focus on electrical engineering and project management.
Astutes Renewables is partnering with a global wind turbine manufacturer and service provider to advance the energy sector worldwide.
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing project operations, overseeing HMI operations, and working with substations, wind turbine generators, and power plant control systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing databases for project operations using OPC and SQL
- Overseeing HMI operations within SCADA systems
- Acting as a Project Engineer with a strong electrical background
- Applying thorough knowledge of Irish and GB Grid Codes
- Working with substations, wind turbine generators, power plant control systems, and hybrid power plant integration
- Utilising electrical simulation software such as Dig Silent and PSSE
- Ensuring proficiency in utility automation, relay protection, electrical power systems, and industrial automation systems
- Conducting site commissioning and Medium Voltage (MV) interface testing
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer, focusing on significant electrical expertise
- Expertise in Substation, BOP design, WTGs, and power plant control systems
- Knowledge in utility automation, relay protection, electrical power systems, and industrial automation systems
