**Electrical Utilities Shift Technician** We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual with mechanical or electrical background to join our critical utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for a leading pharmaceutical company. **Job Description:** The Electrical Utilities Shift Technician is responsible for ensuring that all utilities equipment is available at all times, and all alarms and deviations are responded to and resolved efficiently. The role involves: * Operation and monitoring of site critical utilities systems * First-line and scheduled maintenance for utilities equipment * Liaising with subcontractors during planned service maintenance * Ensuring that all work permits are reviewed and signed by relevant shift members * Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines * Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements * Assisting the engineering support team in updating Utilities Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring training is carried out with Operations Teams * Carrying out investigations on utilities equipment, identifying problem areas and assisting in improvement procedures * Liaising closely with the site utilities Engineering Support Team * Ensuring all issues over shift are communicated to the oncoming shift in a smooth and efficient manner * Assisting maintenance departments with planned and unplanned shutdowns * Participating in utilities reliability programs * Participating in local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results **Required Skills:** * Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering * Minimum 2 years' experience post-qualification in industrial utilities, preferably in pharmaceuticals * Good initiative and pro-active attitude in approach to duties * Ability to organize and prioritize tasks; detail-oriented and self-motivated * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to accurately document work performed * Maintenance and operational experience of pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services * Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems * Experience with and understanding of PLC and SCADA control systems * Work within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment * Ability to read and understand P&ID's * Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems * Understanding of Basic Instrumentation **Desirable Skills:** * Experience of working on a 24/7 production site * Experience dealing with shift teams * Ability to work in a team atmosphere, with the ability to recognize and facilitate conflicts through to resolution * Possess the highest level of attention to detail and expect this of others * Effectively communicate with all levels within the company and client team as necessary * Approach problem-solving in a logical and systematic way * Have the courage of conviction to make decisions when required
