Job Description

Position Description Join our dedicated team in Generation Projects where we develop all power generation projects, including renewable and thermal projects, as well as managing overhauls and construction projects. Our projects range from major utility scale offshore and onshore wind farms, to solar PV and battery projects (BESS), to flexible generation gas turbines and synchronous condenser projects. We are looking for a Project Manager in Energy Storage and System Services to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future. This involves working in partnership with Asset Development to develop projects as the business case evolves and progress projects based on risks and opportunities. Projects are expected to be developed from several sources, green field, brown field, re-powering, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities. The Project Manager may be rotated within Generation Projects to work across multiple projects and a variety of technologies, initially, you will be responsible for developing Battery Energy Storage Systems Key Responsibilities Manage delivery of projects, including safety management, schedule management, cost management, and contractor management utilising PMO methodology. Take responsibility for project safety and project team design safety from early-stage development through to project approval. Lead on technical feasibility and assessment of concept opportunities, contracting strategies, and business cases for relevant capacity auctions. Manage the work required to secure planning permissions, licensing consents, grid connections, utility connections, and site investigations.. Lead the tender process including evaluation and negotiations for the purpose of selecting preferred bidder(s) in line with the agreed contracting and procurement strategy for the project(s). Manage the preparation of necessary project technical deliverables required for financial close/board approval. Experience and Qualifications Essential Minimum of 7 years' experience in an energy or related sector. Primary engineering level 8 degree in a relevant discipline and/or relevant work experience. Demonstrated focus on commerciality and stakeholder management. Experience with Project Delivery Methodology or alternate project management processes. Proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects on time and to budget. Strong experience in leading the preparation of technical specifications. Strong understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of project design and construction. Excellent communication and report writing skills. Desirable Project management qualification. Understanding the business case of the relevant technologies; BESS. Ability to lead a project team to a high level of performance. Understanding of the PSDP and/or CDMC processes. A good understanding of commercial contracts, including management of same. Location Engineering and Major Projects, One Dublin Airport, Cloghran, Co. Dublin. This role may also involve some travel throughout the island of Ireland, visiting sites and potential contractors.
