Employee & Industrial Relations Manager opportunity – Permanent – Dublin

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a multi-award winning Irish organisation, as they look to introduce an Employee & Industrial Relations Manager on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate can be primarily based in Cork or Dublin.

The role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment within an organisation.

You will work closely with business leaders and line managers to diagnose people priorities, create people plans, and help implement organisation-wide people approaches.

The main responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing effective Employee Relations strategies.
  • Providing all Employees with trusted council and advice in all matters employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) related.
  • Leading on negotiations with trade unions, as required, to deliver positive commercial outcomes.
  • Managing all third-party referrals to the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court and Industrial Tribunals (UK).
  • Leading on the people aspects of change management initiatives, as required.
  • Supporting the upskilling of Line Managers and employees on employee relations, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Ensuring a coordinated and consistent case management of ER matters.
  • Collaborating with Heads of HR and HR Business Partners on ER data insights, trends and opportunities to drive proactive solutions.
  • Acting as an internal point of appeal in grievance / disciplinary cases (where required).
  • Contributing to key engagements events with relevant HR practitioners and managers, through Webinars and workshops.
  • Supporting key strategic projects as required, including acquisitions.
  • Supporting HR projects and other HR work, as required.

The successful candidate:

  • 5 years+ experience in a senior HR role with a focus on industrial relations and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leading negotiations with trade unions.
  • Experience in third-party representations in the Republic of Ireland, i.e. Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court.
  • Detailed knowledge of current Republic of Ireland employment legislation.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Degree in HR/Business/Law or related discipline or relevant experience.
  • CIPD or equivalent an advantage.
