Job Description
Energy Engineer sought to drive energy reduction and sustainable practices in healthcare facilities through energy management teams and behavioural change programs.
Team Horizon is seeking a skilled Energy Engineer to join their team in Meath. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Sustainable Energy Engineering, with a minimum of five years of experience in energy management, project management, and construction of buildings or installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and heating services.
- Monitor and report on energy consumption in healthcare premises
- Support and establish energy management teams in identified locations, promoting best practices and energy awareness
- Work closely with hospital green teams and energy teams to drive sustainable initiatives
- Provide and make available metered energy and water usage data, KPIs, and comparators
- Progress energy audits and compile action plans for each location
- Develop and run staff user education and energy awareness programs
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Building on existing knowledge and expertise in energy management and sustainable practices
- Establishing and leading energy management teams in identified locations
- Collaborating with hospital green teams and energy teams to drive sustainable initiatives
- Developing and delivering staff user education and energy awareness programs
Requirements:
- Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Sustainable Energy Engineering accredited by the relevant body
- Membership of the relevant professional association: Engineers Ireland
- At least five years' satisfactory experience in energy management, project management, and construction of buildings or installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and heating services
- High standard of suitability and management ability
- Good character
