Job Description

Tipperary Energy Agency is driving the energy transition to carbon neutrality through leading the delivery of sustainable energy solutions, by advocating, educating and innovating on climate action. We have a great opportunity for an experiencedEnergy Engineer to join our Engineering team and further develop their career in sustainable engineering. This role will be managing contracts, programs and project on behalf of our clients, who require our expertise in auditing, designing and implementing renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy cost reduction projects in the commercial, private, and public sectors to achieve their ambitions for carbon neutrality. Role responsibilities Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption in non-residential buildings, across a diverse range of clients nationwide, by using the latest thermal modelling software tools and heat load calculation models (including IES modelling). Lead energy management activities including data analysis, project scoping, project design, tendering and project management, advice on commissioning and maintenance routines and recommendations for ongoing rectification works. Conduct building services condition and environmental audits and due diligence audits with particular attention on essential services such as building services, lighting and emergency lighting, building fabric and performance and fire protection. Develop pathways to support private and public sector clients meet or exceed their energy efficiency and decarbonisation mandated targets. Work with our clients in troubleshooting potential services system failure and undertake design reviews. Provide clients and contractors with requested information and undertake technical reports and communicate effectively to clients. Ensure Tipperary Energy Agency Quality System is implemented and maintained on projects. Attend conferences and training course to ensure your skills and knowledge are kept up to date. Required skills and experience: 3+ years of experience in energy engineering in a commercial environment Degree in Building Services / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (2.1) or related technical discipline. Relevant experience in one or more of the following: Domestic BER or Non-Domestic BER /other energy auditing standards Energy or other numerical analysis AutoCAD or related technical drawing software M&E in domestic and commercial buildings, fabric upgrades etc. Renewable energy, PV, biomass and heat pumps. IES Modelling Understanding of climate change, energy use and the relationship between the two. Ability to work from the office based in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary with flexibility to work project sites within Ireland, as required. Full clean driving license valid in Ireland and access to a car. Eligible to permanently work in Ireland without any restrictions. Desired skills and experience: Experience with design or audit of water and wastewater services and pumps. Experience with electrical systems or electrical design.
