Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this role is key to achieving energy and carbon reduction targets, implementing net zero initiatives, and supporting the company's sustainability strategy. The Energy Manager will collaborate with operational teams, providing guidance on energy-saving projects and innovative technologies. Additionally, this role may include mentoring team members. Key Responsibilities: Energy Management System: Manage and enhance the ISO 50001-certified Energy Management System. Collaboration with Operational Teams: Work closely with teams and Functional Leads to deliver the energy management strategy, advising on energy efficiency projects and evaluating technologies and suppliers to support sustainability goals. Project Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits as required, supporting external audits where necessary. Strategic Leadership: Set and deliver the energy management strategy, aligning it with the company's broader sustainability objectives. Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse energy performance across the business, identifying opportunities for improvement, setting key performance indicators, and driving data-led decisions. Reporting and Compliance: Collaborate with the Sustainability Reporting Manager to meet external sustainability reporting requirements (e.g., CDP, CSRD, PPN06/21). Promote Sustainability: Act as an advocate for the company's sustainability strategy, educating and encouraging others to contribute to achieving its energy and carbon goals. Business Development Support: Assist work-winning teams by advising on energy-related matters during project bids. Experience and Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 8 years in energy management, with a strong understanding of energy/carbon reduction. ISO 50001 Standard: Experience managing ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, with Lead Auditor status being an advantage. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in energy-saving technologies and methods. Qualifications: Degree or relevant qualification in energy management, energy assessment, or energy auditing. Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading energy initiatives and promoting carbon management.
