Job Description

Enforcement Manager Planning role in Dublin City Council: lead team, manage planning enforcement, ensure compliance with planning permission, and coordinate outdoor events.

The Enforcement Manager Planning plays a vital role in the orderly development of the City, leading and managing a team assigned to planning enforcement duties. The post holder will have specific delegatory responsibilities and functions, forming part of the Department's Senior Management Team.

Main Objectives of the Planning Enforcement Section:

  • Ensuring that developments are carried out in compliance with the planning permission granted
  • Taking appropriate enforcement action in cases where a development (including a material change of use) has been or is being carried out without permission or in breach of permission granted
  • Ensuring the completion of housing developments to a satisfactory standard with regard to drainage, roads, footpaths, open spaces, etc
  • Licensing of and the coordination of compliance relating to outdoor events
