Engineering DC Operations Facility Manager
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're responsible for the cloud's infrastructure, ensuring our customers have continuous access to innovation.
As Engineering Data Center Operations Facility Manager, you'll lead a team of engineers responsible for the 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metrics reporting.
You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the build out of Facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.
- Manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with AWS practices and procedures.
- Ensure engineering systems availability in both leased and colocated facilities.
- Conduct financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions.
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
- Negotiate and roll out contracts and define and audit SLAs.
- Conduct Project Management for multiple sites.
- Draw from a deep group or department level understanding to make business decisions.
- Use business knowledge to set priorities and develop project plans.
- Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment.
- Assist in recruitment efforts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent.
- 8+ years of People Management experience.
- 5+ years experience building strong, successful Engineering technical teams.
- 3+ years of relevant engineering operation experience managing large scale services.
- Very good command of English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, in relevant discipline or equivalent training.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large scale services.
- 8+ years experience building strong, successful Engineering technical teams.
- Data Center Engineering Management.
