Job Description
Engineering Manager
Squarespace is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Conversion teams, overseeing the development of our Template Store and Squarespace Blueprint.
As the Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-functional product engineering teams, consisting of product managers, designers, content strategists, analysts, and engineers, to improve the customer's journey and enhance product discovery.
- Develop engineers across multiple teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
- Coach Team Leads and empower them to support and guide their teams
- Collaborate with partners throughout the company to shape the team's roadmap
- Partner with other leaders to influence product, architectural, and organizational choices
- Grow the technical expertise and development practices of your teams
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience, including managing a team with direct reports
- Communication and leadership capacity; ability to work with diverse company partners
- Experience building and managing a team of software engineers
- A deep passion for coaching impactful engineering teams
Technical Skills
Engineers on your team should have expertise in:
- JavaScript, understanding of new ES6 concepts, and proficiency with React or similar user interface libraries
- Solid knowledge of the DOM, HTML, and CSS3
- Experience with Java, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems
- Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) development
- A sincere commitment to crafting readable and reliable code
