We are seeking a skilled Software Development Manager to lead a team of Erlang developers and Dev Ops engineers in delivering sophisticated distributed systems.
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Development Manager who will lead a team of highly technical Erlang developers and Dev Ops engineers.
• Lead a team of Erlang developers who work on sophisticated distributed systems.
• Manage a team of Dev Ops engineers operating a multi-clustered, large fleet of No SQL databases.
• Handle server budgets for our service at the core of Workday's persistent storage.
• Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Refine and contribute to the vision of the team, helping to shape the future of our services for Workday customers.
• Build critical systems at scale and work closely with collaborators across multiple organizations.
• Ensure data security, resilience, and integrity by implementing standard methodologies and compliance measures.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
• You have 2+ years managing development or production engineering teams of 6 - 8 software engineers.
• You have 4+ years software design and development experience.
• You have used configuration management tools and procedures like Chef, Linux OS, No SQL, Ansible or similar.
• You have worked with highly distributed, highly concurrent systems, and having SQL / No SQL experience is a huge plus, particularly in technologies like RIAK, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, HBase or similar.
• You have experience with cloud object storing services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) which is highly appreciated.
