Lead a team of highly technical Erlang developers and DevOps engineers to design and operate sophisticated distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Erlang developers working on complex distributed systems.
- Oversee a team of DevOps engineers operating a large fleet of NoSQL databases.
- Manage server budgets for a critical service at the core of Workday's persistent storage.
- Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Contribute to the vision of the team and shape the future of services for Workday customers.
- Build critical systems at scale and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure data security, resilience, and integrity through standard methodologies and compliance measures.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience managing development or production engineering teams of 6-8 software engineers.
- 4+ years of software design and development experience.
- Experience with configuration management tools and procedures like Chef, LinuxOS, NoSQL, Ansible.
- Experience with highly distributed, highly concurrent systems, and SQL/NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with cloud object storing services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
