Job Description

Lead Engineering Manager for Energy, Power, and Renewable sector in Ireland, overseeing design, development, and execution of engineering projects to advance renewable energy solutions and optimize power generation.

Our client is a leading international provider of innovative Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Solutions, with a strong focus on Energy, Power and Renewables, Pharma, Food & Beverage, and Data Centres.

They have delivered projects for Irish and multinational clients across the globe over the past 40 years and are currently expanding significantly, delivering large-scale projects across Ireland, the U.K, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of energy projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and optimization of renewable energy systems and power generation infrastructure
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in renewable energy and power systems
  • Lead the integration of new technologies, such as smart grids and energy storage solutions, into existing and new projects
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and support the professional development of team members
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding engineering projects in the energy sector
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and updates to senior management and external partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and industry associations
  • Develop and manage the engineering budget for the energy sector, including forecasting and allocation of resources
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effective project delivery and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
  • Master's degree or higher preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification highly desirable
  • Relevant experience in engineering
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale energy projects, including design, construction, and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, power generation, and energy storage systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards
  • Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and grid integration
  • Knowledge of energy market dynamics and regulatory environments
  • Experience with SCADA systems and other control technologies
  • Experience in energy storage and battery technology projects
