Job Description

Join our client, a leading global packaging manufacturer, as an experienced Engineering Manager. Lead the engineering function, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with health and safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards, while driving productivity and cost improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the engineering function, overseeing day-to-day operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the production supply chain
Manage and drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects from conception to completion
Develop engineering strategies to minimize downtime and enhance site performance
Manage capital projects and ensure compliance with global engineering standards and statutory requirements
Promote new technologies and innovative practices to improve site operations
Ensure the development and training of the engineering team
Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
Manage effective budget management, forecasting, and adherence to financial protocols

Key Requirements:

Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an FMCG environment
Proven track record in engineering project management, with strong skills in planning, scheduling, and team leadership
Experience in lean principles, problem-solving techniques, and breakdown analysis
Financial and commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and cost-saving initiatives
Proficiency in Auto CAD and experience in Health & Safety standards, including PUWER regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization
