Job Title: Engineering Department Leader

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position within the Engineering Department, responsible for leading a team of highly qualified engineers and technicians in the development and implementation of new product and process initiatives, as well as the ongoing improvement of existing processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Engineering Department in the development and implementation of new product and process initiatives, ensuring that they meet quality management system and design control requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective systems, procedures, and protocols for the maintenance of effective health and safety, environmental, and quality systems.
  • Identify and select best value technologies for the department.
  • Develop and implement complete asset management systems, including maintenance functions.
  • Prepare annual operational and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Manage agreed budgets, hiring, day-to-day management, and project resourcing.
  • Deliver profitable on-time product/project launches.
  • Prioritize and drive the execution of multiple complex department projects.
  • Sponsor and support value improvement in the operation.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of process knowledge from project personnel to manufacturing engineers and coordinate training for production team members on new processes and equipment.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports customer quality policy.
  • Initiate cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve production/engineering issues.
  • Managerial, leadership, and employee development, ensuring adequate training is provided to satisfy all operational and health and safety requirements.


About the Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with a strong goal-focused attitude and the ability to work effectively with other functional areas. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a degree in engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment at a senior level. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in project management, strong competencies in resources management, and technical skills in latest plastic injection mould tool, metal stamping, and automation technology. They will also possess a good understanding of quality PSW/PPAP/APQP, lean principles, and be able to measure effectiveness with a strong business and financial acumen.
