Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil / Structural Engineering Technician to join our team in Cork. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD, CADsRC, Civil 3d (or another similar Civil Engineering Software) and have experience of monitoring construction activities of Civil / Structural Engineering projects. The role is to aid the design team in the delivery of a range of Engineering projects across Domestic, Residential and Commercial Building Schemes by: Collaborating with the engineering team to produce detailed drawings. Creating accurate 2D and 3D civil & structural drawings and models using the relevant software. Assisting in the preparation of construction documents and design drawings. Carrying out site inspections of ongoing projects at construction stage to ensure compliance with industry standard, contract drawings and project specifications. Visiting various sites to monitor on-site construction, taking photographic record of works, monitoring materials and workmanship standards and preparing detailed Site Inspection Reports for issuing to the Contractor & Client. Ensuring compliance at all times with Health and Safety regulations and awareness of on-site safety Keeping accurate electronic and written records of inspections etc. Attend site meetings as required. Preparing defect schedules and certify snagging rectifications. Identifying and resolving technical issues during construction. Qualifications/Experience required: A minimum 5 years experience in construction as an Engineering Technician/ Civil/Structural Design Engineer or Clerk of Works. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD software. Previous experience in civil / structural engineering drafting and design. Knowledge of building codes and industry standards. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Hold a full Irish Driver's Licence Skills: Must be creative with respect to their approach to problem solving and mind-set to achieve results Ability to analyse and interpret civil and structural drawings and schedules Must pay attention to detail. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent written and verbal English skills. Self-motivation with strong work ethic and organizational skills and ability to prioritize, schedule and plan ahead Language Skills: Written and verbal English Details: Location: Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork Salary: €30,000 - €40,000 depending on experience. Type of Position: Permanent full-time position
