Job Description

A Data Center Engineering Operations Technician is needed to maintain the world's largest information system infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting and operating electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous access to innovation.

We are looking for a skilled individual to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and operating electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, and more. Your work will help maintain the integrity of our global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
    • Remediate safety risks and issues in conjunction with other teams.
  • Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance
    • Operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, including:
    • Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's)
    • Switchgear
    • Circuit Breakers
    • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's)
    • Diesel Generators
    • Chillers
    • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC)
    • Exhaust Fans
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's)
    • Transformers
    • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
    • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
    • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required.
    • Ability to work shifts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.
  • Professional Electrical or Mechanical Certification (National Craft Certificate (NCC), Registered Electrical Contractor (REC), or equivalent).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending.
