Job Description

Enterprise Architect responsible for designing business solutions for key strategic initiatives, developing architectures, and leading architecture design reviews.

We're looking for a seasoned Enterprise Architect to join our team in Galway, Ireland. As a key member of our architecture community, you'll drive modernization opportunities and lead the development of cloud-native/cloud-first architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop business solution designs for key strategic initiatives, including developing architectures that represent business, applications, data, infrastructure, and platform architectures.
  • Act as the chief SME architect for key strategic initiative(s), with significant enterprise experience in architecture and hands-on delivery of solutions to achieve business outcomes.
  • Conduct Buy vs Build Analysis, providing a final recommendation based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Lead and participate in architecture design reviews, identifying gaps and recommending design changes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineering teams regarding reference architectures for applications and infrastructure within IT.
  • Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives specific to partner technologies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to recommend or assess opportunities to drive cost efficiencies aimed at simplicity, configurability, and eventual elimination of technical debt associated with IT applications.
  • Develop and enforce Architecture standards across multiple IT disciplines.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in design/development experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience.
  • SME level understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, preferably Azure) to deliver large-scale distributed solutions across the full enterprise stack.
  • SME level technical skills in application and integration architecture, security, and automation along with a working knowledge of IT operations.
  • SME level understanding of APIs and microservices-based architecture is a must.
  • Domain Driven Design: Ability to map the domain scope to Bounded Contexts/Microservices.
  • Experience working with technologies that act as glue between modern applications and legacy infrastructure leveraging streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Ability to collaborate with Network Operations, Cloud Operations, Data Engineering, Application Engineering, and Security to deliver solutions.
  • Experience in enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including Dev Ops.
  • Hands-on technologists with coding skills and proficient in modern technology stacks (Cloud, Dev Ops, Kafka, etc.).
  • Understanding of both SQL and No SQL database technologies as well as Cloud database technologies.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience is a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience is preferred.
