Job Description Our client specializes in the development, investment, construction, operation, and maintenance of wind power, solar energy, and other renewable energy projects.
Fluency in both English and French is required for this position.
Responsibilities Responsible for the environmental compliance of all assets in each country where the assets are located In close liaison with the Operation Managers, manage the implementation of environmental measures/definition of the mitigation strategy (A/R/C) and ensure the follow-up of those measures during operation Assist the operation teams for the management of all the regulatory environmental studies (organization, main contact with the suppliers, monitoring during the study, validation of the report) and all other measures prescribed during the authorization phase Coordination with third-party consultancy firms: definition of the technical specifications and monitoring of the studies in compliance with the expected quality and deadlines/ensure that subcontractors fulfill company standards, both in terms of contractual requirements and in terms of SHE standards Assistance to the Business Development, Construction, and Operation teams for the proper consideration of environmental issues and the implementation of the measures prescribed during the authorization phase (re-powering projects in France, for example)Privileged interlocutor of the State services for any environmental problem encountered during the construction and operation phases Coordination of Environmental Inspection (ICPE), responding to additional information requests from authorities Technical and legal monitoring regarding environmental issues in Europe Improvement of operational bird and bat mitigation solutions, both for the accuracy of the solution and for production optimization Monitoring of research or experimental projects to reconcile the projects with the environmental challenges Participate actively in working groups and commissions dedicated to environmental topics (FEE association, for example)Manage operational topics that could impact the environmental studies or the efficiency of all operational mitigation solutions (contact with OEM, any other involved third parties)Contribute to the ISO 14001 environmental management system (and its continued compliance and evolution) on all operational wind farms, involving close liaison with SHE and Asset Management Teams Assist in environmental due diligence reviews for potential renewable resource acquisitions Requirements Master's degree in Environmental Sciences and/or Biology/Ecology, 3 to 5 years at an environmental consultancy or with a developer/operator of renewable energy projects Experience in the management of environmental issues during construction site and/or operation phases is a plus Diligent, dynamic, honest, and organized Excellent verbal and writing skills are mandatory (both in French and English)Proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and autonomous ability to convince conversation partners and to adapt to all audiences Demonstrable scientific knowledge regarding birds, bats, and ecosystems Specialist of the environmental evaluation procedure applicable to wind energy projects Knowledge and understanding of national and European environmental legislation, and Environmental Impact Assessment; strong knowledge and understanding of environmental issues Some knowledge in acoustics would be beneficial Clean driver's license
