Job Description

Environmental Health & Safety Officer Location: Dublin City Centre (Office & Site-Based within M50) Salary: €45K - €50K (DOE) with benefits We are seeking a qualified Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to join a well-established construction organisation based in Dublin. This role is primarily office-based in Dublin City Centre with regular site visits within the M50 throughout the week. The EHS Officer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, promoting a safe work environment, and managing all aspects of environmental health and safety across projects. The ideal candidate must have previous commercial construction experience in Ireland. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with senior management to implement a positive health and safety culture within the company Lead and maintain the ISO 45001 certification and Safe-T-Cert certification annually Develop and monitorSite Construction Stage plans, traffic management, and waste management plans Regularly update and communicate companyRisk Assessments,Method Statements,Health & Safety policies, and theSafety Statement Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are met Monitor and manage online safety management systems, ensuring hazards are identified and addressed Oversee subcontractor safety compliance, including reviewingSafety Statements and other relevant documents Support Site Supervisors withSafety Induction Training and maintain documentary evidence Conduct investigations for accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures Manage employee safety training programmes and maintainCPD records Provide input to enhance company-wideSafety Management Systems Stay up-to-date with current health and safety legislation and best practices Qualifications: Degree or diploma inOccupational Health and Safety or a related field Minimum3 years' H&S construction experience in Ireland IOSH membership required Instructor certifications (e.g.Manual Handling,Working at Height) are advantageous but not essential Skills: Strong knowledge ofHealth & Safety regulations and the ability to implement best practices Ability to drive change and influence positive safety behaviours Proficient inMS Office and online safety management systems Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage a varied workload Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Full clean driving licence required and have access to a car For further information, please contact: Fiona Ralph at GHL Recruitment Skills: ISO 45001 Safe-T-Cert drivers license Benefits: pension healthcare Paid Holidays
