Environmental Manager sought to strengthen Taconic International's environmental management program and implement innovative systems to support ISO14001 accreditation.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Technology & Manufacturing, Europe, and be responsible for managing environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting risk assessments, implementing environmental policies, and training employees to minimize the company's overall environmental impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, reviewing and monitoring the Environmental Plan, objectives, and targets in support of the ongoing proper and effective maintenance of the company's ISO14001 certification.
- Driving activities that achieve energy, carbon, water, and waste reduction targets through measuring, analysis and reporting programs.
- Professionally managing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders on carbon, climate, REACH, and sustainability issues.
- Capturing, analysing, and reporting to Management and other key stakeholders, of all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability.
- Keeping up to date with new and/or emerging legislation, advising Management on any changes that are required and leading and/or supporting the implementation of such changes.
- Working with the Director on any environmental licensing related matters, and reporting of emission and waste data.
- Working with cross-functional teams to maintain environmental management and monitoring programs.
- Developing, implementing and managing an Industrial Hygiene Testing Program.
- Completing and communicating to relevant personnel the outcome of Environmental Risk Assessments.
- Developing and implementing an Environmental Audit schedule.
- Developing an Environmental Toolbox Talk schedule and conducting same across the company.
- Working with relevant personnel to set out an appropriate annual Environmental Training and Awareness Plan.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (NFQ Level 8) or equivalent in Science, or another related, relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in an environmental role.
- Detailed knowledge of Irish and European Environmental legislation required, along with strong knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste management, and field sampling desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required.
- Attention to detail for precise record-keeping and a methodical approach to work are required.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging Toolbox Talks and training sessions is required.
- Excellent working knowledge of the full MS Suite is required.
