Job Summary: Environmental Permitting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our EMEA environmental permitting team, responsible for managing multiple regions and sites in development.

About the Role

  • Lead on air permitting and emissions modelling, including air impact assessments and air quality management.
  • Manage environmental permitting, including environmental impact assessments, IED permitting, and natural and cultural heritage assessments.
  • Conduct environmental due diligence, including contaminated site management, remediation, and initial environmental risk analysis.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and ensure work performed by contractors and consultants meets Amazon standards.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental engineering, science, or related field of study.
  • Experience with EU air quality legislation and air emissions modelling and assessment in Europe.
  • Experience of EU permit evaluations and applications, Environmental Impact Assessments, biodiversity integration, water discharge requirements, and waste management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing and delivering multiple sites/locations in EMEA at any one point in time.
  • Highly autonomous and can work with minimal guidance with excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability across multiple jurisdictions.
