Equipment Engineer

Team Horizon is seeking an Equipment Engineer for a leading manufacturing company in Mayo.

What you will be doing:

  1. Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
  2. Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
  3. Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
  4. Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment.
  5. Developing and conducting quality inspections during the construction phase of projects.
  6. Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  7. Providing engineering services to the plant to maximize the availability of all site process equipment and utilities.
  8. Understanding the impact of various materials/components on the lines and the limitations on equipment performance. Working to implement solutions.
  9. Reviewing component drawings and understanding equipment performance to ensure that both are aligned for maximum outputs with minimal waste.
  10. Managing capital projects and process improvement.
  11. Experience with warehouse equipment: conveyors, cranes, robot picking, warehouse management systems, print & apply labeling systems.
  12. Experience with PLCs, Scada, and preventative maintenance systems.
  13. All other duties as requested or assigned.

What you need to apply:

  1. Third level qualification in Engineering or equivalent in the areas of Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
  2. Project management training desirable.
  3. Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing and engineering, including planning, design, installation, and commissioning in a GMP environment.
  4. Experience in requirements analysis, design skills, project management, process improvement, technical understanding, documentation skills, and risk management.
  5. Must have excellent computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Previous experience and understanding of high-speed packaging lines.
