Your new company
Our client
is involved in the construction and maintenance of the roads networks across Ireland.
They are now seeking to recruit an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in the west.
The role will include full tendering and quantity surveying responsibilities.
Your new role

Monitor E-Tenders to identify relevant tender opportunities for civil engineering/maintenance projects.
Maintain accurate records of tender submissions, market analysis findings, and relevant industry data for future reference and analysis.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging opportunities in the construction/road maintenance industry.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and maintenance projects, including material, labour, and equipment costs.
Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost control strategies and monitor project budgets throughout the construction process.
Prepare and submit progress payment applications, variations, and final accounts to clients and subcontractors in a timely manner.
Negotiate and review contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions for the company.
Perform site visits as required to assess progress, verify quantities, and identify any discrepancies or deviations from the original plans.
Assist in the resolution of disputes or claims related to costs, contracts, and project specifications.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in monitoring E-Tenders and conducting market analysis.
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Strong understanding of Irish construction procurement processes, including E-Tenders and public sector tendering frameworks.
Proficiency in relevant software tools for quantity surveying, tender management, and market analysis.
Proficiency in construction cost estimating, tendering procedures, and contract management.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tender documents and market data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
