RPS is seeking applications for the position of Environmental/Senior Consultant (Circular Economy) to join our Sustainability Team in Ireland (ROI). Our Sustainability Team works on projects across a wide range of sectors including circular economy, renewable energy, public infrastructure, manufacturing, and commercial development. We provide our clients with high quality and commercially focused solutions to address environmental challenges. Projects range from delivery of circular economy reports, strategies and analysis, monitoring programmes and support to construction projects. RPS specializes in all areas of the built and natural environment, shaping the future of our environmental, social and economic landscapes. This is a hybrid role, with offices available in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, and Sligo.About The Team:Our team has extensive experience in a wide range of circular economy projects including:Preparation of policy and guidance documents on the circular economy;Waste characterisation, analysis and reporting;Support to clients in the application of waste regulations, including Article 27/28 processes.We come from diverse backgrounds including civil and environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, and ecology. Together we work to solve real-world challenges and identify creative, sustainable solutions for the future.About The Role:You’ll be working on a wide range of projects enabling you to develop your understanding of the circular economy, including the wider policy and legislative frameworks at both a Local and National level. You’ll have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from working with senior colleagues across RPS business units (e.g., Energy, Water, Transport, Geotechnical). You will provide support to the team by conducting data assessment and evaluation, desk-based technical report writing and research, conducting site visits and appraisals, and assisting with management of project tasks. You’ll be responsible for the design and supervision of surveys including liaison with sub-contractors and clients.About You:Highly motivated with interest and ambition to further develop expertise in the circular economy sector.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Additional language skills a plus.Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage your time and identify project priorities.Be flexible and have a willingness to travel on occasion to client sites for meetings, surveys, etc.Current member of a professional body (e.g., CIWM) working toward chartered status.Ability to work closely as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, with strong social and interpersonal skills.A good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental management.Have a full clean driving licence.Key Skills / Qualifications:We’d like you to have at least 5 years of professional experience in a circular economy role, ideally within a consultancy context. You’ll be confident providing and demonstrating experience delivering technical outputs to a high standard (e.g., reports, drawings, project plans). You have been involved in leading and delivering waste and circular economy projects to a high standard. Great communication skills are key in order to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.You’ll have a Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/BE) or equivalent in Engineering / Science.Why RPS?You will have the opportunity to work on interesting and challenging projects, where different perspectives, styles of thinking and ideas are encouraged.
