Job Description

Dony Engineering Ltd is a leading vehicle service and repair centre specialising in engine rebuild and repair of all passenger cars as well as light commercial vehicles, both petrol and diesel. We are currently looking for an experienced mechanic to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct full examinations of vehicles and identify non-routine defects, or additional faults either in the workshop or during road tests.
2. Undertake Electronic Vehicle Health Checks.
3. Work closely with the Service and Parts teams to communicate additional parts requirements, vehicle repair status etc.
4. Obtain appropriate authorisation if additional work is required on a vehicle.
5. Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices and technicians.
6. Ensure vehicles are thoroughly examined, report verbally and in writing the general condition of vehicles with emphasis on customer safety.
7. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations and brake inspections.

Experience:

1. 5 years experience in a similar role.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Thorough record keeping, customer service, time management and efficient problem-solving.
2. Have own mechanics tool kit.
3. Ability to perform well as part of the team but also on own initiative.
4. Strong work ethic and highly committed.

Salary:

1. Competitive, depending on experience.

Experience:

1. Vehicle Technician/mechanic: 3 years (required).
