Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the design and execution of all plant based structural and civil engineering works at our clients Kingscourt plant. Key Accountabilities Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and groundworks inc. property and land management of our clients estate -boundaries, remote company locations and point of contact for 3rd parties Project lead facility projects (driven by site risk responsibilities) by undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site inspections of utilities and current and new projects Contractor management; Co-ordinate with external contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and projects. Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements and relationships to optimise quality, delivery and cost savings. Contractor RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statement) and contractor insurance Review and confirm compliance with building regulations, fire compliance & ATEX compliance on all facility related project activity on site at the end of each project. Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases Conduct and document regular site inspections based on structural, fire, water and energy supply assets Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance programme Assisting Design teams on development of site-specific Facility/Utility equipment/processes as required Act as the Project Engineer and/or Project Sponsor for minor and major facilities projects such as re-roofing, flooring replacements, Drainage storm & foul works, remodelling, expansions Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements Lead Risk Prevention World Class Manufacturing Pillar Board Lead insurance audits. Skills and experience required National Framework of Qualifications level 8 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering. 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Proven experience working in a similar role and similar environment Specific work experience required to essentially fulfil the role Working knowledge of principles and practices of business administration, procurement, and contracts Demonstrable health, safety, and environmental knowledge and best practices in a manufacturing setting, with the ability to enforce these practices rigorously Experience in civil maintenance and engineering and all facets of large-scale civil operations Demonstrable negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills Excellent planning and organisational skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental departments Strong mathematical and IT skills.
