Facilities Engineer

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our team in Kilkenny, Ireland, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our facilities, ensuring safe working conditions, and liaising with various departments and external organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out installation and repair of new, modified, or existing equipment to manufacturing areas, offices, and plant facilities.
  • Assist with Facilities projects and monitor expenditure where necessary.
  • Effect routine installation/maintenance; breakdown repairs of Heating, Ventilating, Air conditioning and Chilled water systems (Including Humidification and dehumidification equipment), Building management control systems, and compressed air systems.
  • Liaise with area supervisors for the implementation of works with minimal disruption.
  • Attend local and other Departmental or Division wide meetings of interest to this role, including the FM Forum, and report back to the Facilities Team manager as required.
  • Ensure all records and reports are correctly maintained and available to the management team per the site procedures.
  • Comply with Facilities department quality control procedures for the implementation of all maintenance work and new projects.
  • Be an active member of the Department's sustainability Team.
  • Ensure that work practices are in place so that process areas remain in compliance with the Abbott Quality System and the applicable procedures when implementing new/modified building, plant/equipment into the Facilities environment.
  • Assist Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) personnel to ensure that all regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety are followed and supported.

Requirements:

  • 2 years related work experience.
  • Minimum Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in Engineering.
