Job Description

Facilities Engineer required to oversee design, maintenance, and management of structural and civil projects at client's Cavan HQ, with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and budget oversight.

Key responsibilities include contractor coordination, compliance review, project management, and budget oversight, ensuring safety and operational efficiency across facilities.

Job Description:

  • Design and execution of all plant-based structural and civil engineering works at client's HQ in Cavan.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and groundworks, including property and land management of the client estate.
  • Project lead facility projects by undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site inspections of utilities and current and new projects.
  • Contractor management, including coordination with external contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and projects.
  • Negotiation of contracts and management of service agreements and relationships to optimize quality, delivery, and cost savings.
  • Management of RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) and contractor insurance.
  • Review and confirmation of compliance with building regulations, fire compliance, and ATEX compliance on all facility-related project activity.
  • Generation and presentation of regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases.
  • Conduct and documentation of regular site inspections based on structural, fire, water, and energy supply assets.
  • Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program.
  • Assistance to design teams on development of site-specific facility/utility equipment/processes as required.
  • Act as Project Engineer and/or Project Sponsor for minor and major facilities projects.
  • Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements.
  • Lead World Class Manufacturing Pillar Board.
  • Participation/leadership in insurance audits.

Requirements:

  • National Framework of Qualifications level 8 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven experience working in a similar role and similar environment.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of business administration, procurement, and contracts.
  • Demonstrable health, safety, and environmental knowledge and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in civil maintenance and engineering and all facets of large-scale civil operations.
  • Demonstrable negotiating, supervisory, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong mathematical and IT skills.
