Facilities Technician/Engineer
Summary: Maintenance and upkeep of critical facilities equipment and infrastructure in a Medical Device manufacturing environment.
As a Facilities Technician/Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining critical facilities equipment and infrastructure, planning and implementing improvement and energy saving projects, and managing contractors and facilities team members.
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and oversight of critical facility infrastructure systems, including cleanroom operation, HVAC, compressed air, chillers, gas systems, fire alarms systems, and security systems.
- Project management of facility projects to agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring work is completed in a safety compliant manner with regard to both execution and documentation.
- Identifying and implementing facility-related improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
- Management and reporting on facilities work requests.
- Maintenance of facility-related records that are auditable by notified bodies in the medical device industry.
- Liaising with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders (internal and external).
- Monitoring and troubleshooting facilities operational issues through the Building Management System (BMS).
- Responsible for continuous improvement in the area of energy management, development of reports, monitoring, and reporting on consumption, and identification of areas for improvement.
- Oversight and management of plant layout drawings.
- Assisting Engineering and/or contractors with layout changes, equipment moves/installations, etc.
- Supporting the business in Out-Of-Hour working to support scheduled and unscheduled tasks.
- Ensuring H&S standards and environmental best practices are maintained on all tasks.
Requirements:
- 3rd level Engineering-related qualification (or equivalent) or completed apprenticeship in Carpentry, Electrical, or Plumbing.
- Experience in an Engineering environment in Medical Device/Pharmaceutical industry for at least 3 years.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
- Ability to make on-the-spot decisions.
- Good IT skills with ability to write basic reports.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours.
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
