unique and rewarding opportunities to join BIA Innovator Campus Facility Support Specialist CLOSING DATE September 30th, 2024 NATURE OF CONTRACT This position will be offered on a 2-year fixed term contract to a suitable candidate. Applicants should note that a panel may be formed from which future vacancies may be filled. WORKING WEEK The normal working hours are 20 hours per week. This role will require a degree of flexibility as evening and weekend work apply. Travel expenses within the scope of employment will be covered by BIA Innovator Campus. LOCATION The role will be based at BIA Innovator Campus, Mellows Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway. Candidates must have the right to live, work and travel in the EU. There is no visa sponsorship available for this role. REPORTS TO You will report directly to the Operations Manager, or a key person nominated by the GM and have responsibilities in delivering KPIs aligned with BIA Innovator Campus objectives. DESCRIPTION OF POST The Operations Support role is focused on maintaining a clean and safe environment across the campus. This includes implementing and adhering to cleaning and sanitisation protocols for offices, restrooms, and common areas, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role also involves managing inventory by tracking and replenishing cleaning supplies as needed, while overseeing proper waste disposal and recycling practices throughout the campus. A key aspect of the position is prioritising safety by following established health and safety guidelines, handling and storing cleaning chemicals correctly, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Additionally, the Operations Support person will work closely with the Facilities Management team to ensure seamless coordination, aiding during special events, emergencies, or other situations that require additional support. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL Previous experience in a similar role desirable. Candidates must possess strong initiative coupled with the ability to operate effectively and appropriately in a multidimensional environment. Basic computing skills an asset. Good verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks . Good customer service attitude and manner. Ability to work in a team environment and adhere to BIA's procedures and policies. HEALTH Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. To satisfy the requirement as to health, it will be necessary for the successful candidate, before they are appointed, to undergo a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner to be nominated by BIA Innovator Campus CLG.
