Job Description

Field Service Engineer required for a clean technology/sustainability start-up in North Tipperary, close to Limerick City. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot issues, become an SME with current products/technology, and support customer operators and technical personnel.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment, including IQ, OQ, and PQ (Installation, Operation and Performance Qualification)
  • Training and supporting customer operators and technical personnel on company systems
  • Service and maintenance of systems installed at customer sites
  • Repair and testing of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
  • Assisting in the design and development of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
  • Participating in cross-functional team meetings and risk assessments
  • Supporting value engineering projects and developing cost reduction initiatives
  • Working closely with other departments and external service providers to maintain and enhance equipment performance
  • Updating equipment operating and maintenance procedures
  • Providing regular updates on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ensuring all company equipment is maintained and in good working order
  • Ensuring full compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental guidelines

**Requirements:**

  • Trade qualification with level 7 in Engineering (a distinct advantage)
  • 3-5 years of Electrical/Mechanical machine build/support experience
  • Previous installation and qualification of machinery and equipment in customer sites
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Basic Siemens PLC coding experience (an advantage)
  • Experience in technical writing, including validation protocols and associated test plans
  • Interpretation of P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Self-motivated, capable of working on own initiative, and working to tight deadlines
  • Strong customer service focus with ability to interact confidently and professionally with system end users/customers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project
  • Full clean driving license
