Job Description

Finance Business Partner role at the Central Bank of Ireland, supporting the IT Directorate with financial strategy alignment, providing financial insight, and ensuring sound financial decisions.

This role is aligned with the Bank Professional 3 grade and the BP3 salary scale, between €61,092 and €81,235 applies.

The purpose of the role is to support the IT Directorate with which you will be partnered in aligning financial strategy with overall business goals, to provide financial insight and robust challenge to ensure sound financial decisions and to ensure that any impact on the Bank's future budgets are understood.

You will collaborate with the IT Directorate to enable them to understand the impact of financial decisions on business performance, to ensure that the cost drivers of the business Directorate are understood and communicated.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly reporting to both Senior Management within the IT Directorate, and internally to Finance ensuring that reports are completed accurately, and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights into business performance, thereby supporting the IT Directorate in monitoring and control of operating expense and capital budgets, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Build partnerships and maintain strong collaborative and professional relationships with senior managers and their teams in the IT Directorate, and across operations and the wider Bank, driving a culture of effective cost management.
  • Lead the IT forecast and budget processes, working closely with divisional heads to ensure realistic and achievable financial targets.
  • Ensure smooth running of the budget cycle, version control and input into final budget presentation.
  • Provide effective analysis, which will give commercial and financial insight into decisions being taken by senior managers, including identifying risks and opportunities and an understanding of the impact of decisions on future year budgets.
  • Support the finance team, championing system and process improvements and new ways of working, participating in projects as required to facilitate delivery of the team objectives on a timely basis.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls at all times to maintain the integrity of financial data, while contributing to monitoring the accuracy of accounts, proposing improvements and remediation and taking proactive steps to correct ad-hoc and ongoing issues where gaps are identified.
  • Ad hoc support requirements for the IT Directorate.

Requirements:

  • A third level honours degree or professional qualification in a related discipline.
  • A professional Accounting qualification with Membership of a Professional Accounting Body
  • Demonstrable experience in the area of IT financial budgeting planning and analysis.
  • Track record of producing insightful, timely and accurate reporting.
  • Excellent Stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required to convey complex financial issues in a clear, concise, and logical manner to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to act on your own initiative, providing financial insight and implementing key processes and controls as required experience with accounting for Cloud implementation and management is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, planning and organisational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • SAP experience an advantage.
  • A team player with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
