Seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and management in a public sector organisation.
This role involves overseeing financial operations, managing a team of Senior Finance Officers, and playing a key role in budgeting, audits, and stakeholder negotiations.
The position offers a hybrid working model with flexible hours and requires strategic leadership to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of four Senior Finance Officers, ensuring strong collaboration and team performance.
- Oversee the creation and accuracy of financial reports, records, and statutory filings, maintaining full compliance with accounting standards.
- Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Represent the organisation in negotiations with external stakeholders to secure funding and ensure financial health.
- Implement cost control strategies and increase financial awareness across departments to optimise resource use.
- Collaborate with the CEO on financial strategy, aligning it with the overall organisational goals.
- Ensure robust internal controls by refining financial policies and procedures in line with best practices.
- Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and continuous financial improvement.
Qualifications:
- ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of senior management experience.
- Experience in the health or voluntary sector preferred.
