Our client a highly respected and well-established public sector organisation is seeking a full-time permanent Director of Finance to join the team. This role, reporting directly to the CEO, involves leading the financial strategy and management of a well-established public sector organisation. The Director of Finance will oversee financial operations, manage a team of Senior Finance Officers, and play a key role in budgeting, audits, and stakeholder negotiations. The position offers a hybrid working model with flexible hours and requires strategic leadership to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability and growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead and a team of four Senior Finance Officers, ensuring strong collaboration and team performance. Oversee the creation and accuracy of financial reports, records, and statutory filings, maintaining full compliance with accounting standards. Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making. Represent the organisation in negotiations with external stakeholders to secure funding and ensure financial health. Implement cost control strategies and increase financial awareness across departments to optimise resource use. Collaborate with the CEO on financial strategy, aligning it with the overall organisational goals. Ensure robust internal controls by refining financial policies and procedures in line with best practices. Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and continuous financial improvement. Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification. Minimum 5 years of senior management experience. Experience in the health or voluntary sector preferred. Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
