Job Description
A Financial Accountant is sought to manage month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for a global logistics firm in the Mayo/Roscommon/South Sligo region.
As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Finance Manager in the month-end close process, including preparation of Prophix uploads and journal postings.
- Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules and updating the Finance Manager.
- Reviewing general ledgers and providing explanations for variances from forecast, prior year, and month-on-month movements.
- Creditor payment support and 2nd-level review.
- Managing fixed assets and creating a fixed asset policy for the group.
- Reviewing revenue recognition and billings to ensure accurate period recognition.
- Reconciling sales and finance apps and resolving any variances.
- Coordinating with rebates and customer claims teams to resolve queries.
- Assisting with year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation.
- Supporting special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with experience in SAP accounting software.
- Understanding of financial structure, P&L, and balance sheet.
- Ability to manage a significant workload, highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
