Job Description

**Financial Management Specialist** Manage the financial operations of the Authority, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing financial analysis and support to the business. **Key Responsibilities:** * Ensure month-end close is completed efficiently and according to schedule * Manage grant administration and sales processes * Administer financial accounting system and develop databases * Coordinate finance systems upgrades and process developments * Prepare key performance indicators and metrics * Coordinate training and support for finance staff and business teams * Respond to auditor queries and assist with annual statutory audit * Business partner with internal and external stakeholders * Ensure strong focus on internal controls and data security * Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end accounts * Monitor and report KPIs to management and other departments * Develop and report high-quality financial management reports * Provide financial analysis and support to the business * Assist with budgeting and forecasting process * Prepare variance analysis reports and business partnering with business units * Liaise with Finance Managers and Financial Controllers to reconcile and align internal controls and intercompany accounts * Document and implement policies, procedures, and manuals * Maintain open communications with Finance management * Assist with data protection policies and procedures * Support process improvement and development of finance controls * Support the development of internal finance portals and business partnering reporting * Support implementation and improvement of business analysis and reporting **Essential Criteria:** * Hold a minimum of an NFQ level 7 qualification in a finance, business or related discipline * Have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the preparation of management accounts, reconciliations and annual financial statements * Have experience working with the financial modules of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar finance software * Possess strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel * Have a proven ability to organise and manage a range of work activities while delivering results successfully and in a timely manner * Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical and problem-solving skills **Desirable Criteria:** * Have strong interpersonal and communication skills * Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
