Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team based in Shannon, County Clare. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Ideally this candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in industry after coming out of practice. Please note this is a fulltime, onsite opportunity. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing actionable insights to management. Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is accurate and accessible. Manage the preparation and filing of VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory returns in accordance with Irish tax regulations. Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and payment of invoices. Conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall financial efficiency. Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and banks, to ensure smooth financial operations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A masters degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in industry with a background in practice. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills. Familiarity with Irish accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
