Job Description

Financial Accountant - Permanent - Shannon CREGG are currently recruiting Qualified Accountants for a role with our client based in Shannon. The successful candidate will be the first member of the finance team for the Shannon site and will report to the Finance Manager for Ireland. Major Activities Support the month end close for Irish operation and the preparation of information for all US reporting requirements with activities including; Prepare accrual and prepayment journals. Valuation of inventory balances Maintenance of Ireland's fixed asset register and depreciation Preparation of monthly reporting pack Support the development and roll out of monthly Management Information Packs for the Irish operation, including KPI reporting to enhance local decision making. Plan and support the annual budget exercises and subsequent reporting against approved budgets. Assist with new financial workstreams/projects for Ireland as the facility moves closer to commercial production. This will include specific capital projects where costs need to be accurately budgeted and monitored with variances understood. Support year end audit process through preparation of information and responding to queries. VAT and Intrastat reporting Supporting Industrial Development Agency (IDA) grant applications Ensure the recording of transactions within the NetSuite accounting software is done in an accurate and consistent manner. Support Accounts Payable team workflow requests, purchase order review and billing coding queries Maintain a strong control environment including SOX controls and seek opportunities to continually improve this environment. Support procurement strategies Other ad-hoc accounting/business project duties as needed. Key Job Competencies Qualified accountant with post qualification experience (at least 2 years) Experience of using ERP systems (previous experience using Netsuite would be advantageous but not required) and proficient with Excel. This is the first dedicated finance role in Ireland, so its key this person is comfortable organising, prioritising and directing their work to meet the needs of the business on a daily basis with minimal supervision.
