Financial Accounting Advisory Services - Non-Financial Reporting & ESG - Director General Information Available for Work Visa Sponsorship: Yes Business Area: UKI Assurance The Team and the Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Director to join EY’s market-leading Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Ireland with a focus on technical accounting and reporting related services. We assist some of the largest global companies navigate the ever-changing accounting and reporting landscape to help them make informed, practical, and sustainable decisions. Our range of services includes assisting clients with GAAP conversion, advising on financial accounting excellence matters, and accounting for transactions including IPOs, implementing improvements to internal controls under US SOX and UK corporate reform. Your Key Responsibilities Growing the business by actively pursuing new business opportunities, client contacts, and areas of growth; Networking & representing the FAAS practice at events, client seminars, and similar; Leading the day-to-day delivery on client engagement projects to maintain quality and our promise for exceptional service delivery; Client management and liaison with senior client stakeholders to build strong working relationships; Managing performance of junior team members through on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback; Liaison with other EY teams and service lines as necessary to ensure seamless solutions for clients; Keeping engagement leaders updated on progress and bringing issues to their attention with proposed solutions; Leading consultations and research in line with agreed engagement execution plans to support deliverables; Preparation of high-quality client deliverables including technical accounting analysis papers, GAAP compliant financial statements, project reports, and accounting policies documentation; Presentation of results to senior team members or clients in a clear and concise manner; Development of our talent pool through training, counseling, mentoring, and promoting the wellbeing of our people. Skills and Attributes for Success We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, analytical, logical thinkers with a passion for innovation and creating better ways of working with our clients, and have a strong attention to detail. To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have Accountancy qualified (ACCA / ACA / CPA / CA or Equivalent). A minimum of 10 years post-qualified experience. Good understanding of IFRS and FRS 102. Good understanding and experience of US GAAP and SOX. Some knowledge of ESG, specifically CSRD. Experience in process and controls for financial and non-financial reporting. Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge. Ideally, You Will Also Have Interest in ESG reporting, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and other national reporting requirements. Desire to grow a team specializing in non-financial reporting assistance, including process and controls design. Proven ability to work on complex accounting issues and articulate advice in written deliverables. Proven experience leading planning, execution, and reporting on engagements. Good working knowledge of finance governance and reporting, finance operations, processes, and internal controls. Demonstrated commercial awareness. Industry experience.
